10B3: Descriptive Writing. Describe the scene at a fireworks display.

You can use some of these videos and images for inspiration.  You may wish to do New Year's Eve OR Bonfire Night.  Remember:


  1. Appeal to the senses.  Sight, sound, touch, taste and smell.
  2. Use your sensational sentences and a variety of sentence types and lengths.
  3. Stay in 3rd person.
  4. Use MASSIVE and other language devices to create imagery in your writing
  5. Shift your focus.  Focus on different areas and types/groups of people.
  6. Describe an overview of the scene as well as small details - zoom-in like a CCTV camera!
